Zugzwang is a catalog of new work exhibited at Hidari Zingaro Gallery in Tokyo, curated by Takashi Murakami. Also included in the volume are exploratory and ancillary works created in the same period, as well as process images. The slipcase edition features a custom-engineered cloth case with a magnetic enclosure that opens to reveal a foil-embossed letterpress print within. 

Each purchase of the Zugzwang Special Edition gives patrons a chance to win an original drawing by James. The winner will be selected at random.
